Guardians of the Galaxy

Finally saw it. It was a blast-great anti-heroes and okayish villians. Vin Diesel hasn't been this good since "Pitch Black." Seriously, Groot is a thing of beauty.
It's so nice to finally have a Marvel adventure set in space. The geek in me cheered loudly.
Karen Gillan's Nebula was kickass, but underused. Lee Pace's Ronan looked and sounded the part but had a boring motivation-he's evil because he's evil. Eh. Work on your villains, Marvel.
Our hero Peter Quill was charming and very appealing. Gamora was great. Rocket stole the show, and Drax well he was kickass at least. I hope his comic book daughter Moondragon joins for the sequel.
We need her and her lover Phyla-Vell too. Mantis can come too.
Sorry, we had a few ladies but more can hardly hurt. My love for comic book Mantis knows no bounds.
So yeah, a very nice movie. Avengers is still a better movie. Can we please have Doctor Strange soon?

Admittedly, the trailer for Guardians put me off a bit, but I've heard good things from my flist, saying it was just all-around fun.

Also Vin Diesel. Or at least his voice. Have you seen 'Riddick'? Sadly nowhere near as good as Pitch Black or Chronicles (of which I have this bottomless love, I can't explain it), but I still admire his dedication to getting it done and out there.

I've seen some backlash about how Gamora is barely included in the merchandising (except the party napkins because you know wimminz, they love to clean!) and sadface because she sounds awesome. I mean -- the most dangerous woman in the universe! And has precog powers! How can that be uncool?!

Loved all of it. Haven't seen Riddick or Chronicles, though I probably will soon. My love for Pitch Black is very deep, so I guess it's nice to have seen the sequels too.

I know about Gamora-I want my own action figure of her, and she was awesome. Nebula should be an action figure and a million little mugs too. Awesome design and look. And she's a cool ruthless villain. Sigh at the ladies not being in the merch.
