Fall tv: SVU is back; same old, same old

Soo..Super!Liv is still with Tucker and there's still zero chemistry.
The bit with Dodds was classy, writers. At least papa Dodds got to tell Liv what was what. Fin, Amanda and Sonny were bit players, but we had Rita and Barba getting some good lines. Le sigh.
Zero dealing with Liv's drinking and Barba's death threats. The latter storyline should pop up later, right? I don't want him to die, but at least then he'd get something to do.
Liv is still taking it personally, and listens to no one but herself. She's also afraid her happiness won't last. Anvils all over.
So, that happened. Next week we rip off "Making a murderer."

There was an interview with Mariska right before the season premiere where she said Olivia "self-corrected" her drinking problem. I wanted to throw my computer out a window when I read that, it made me so furious because, no, that's NOT how alcoholism works! And it sounds like we're never going to see that mentioned on the show again which just enrages me that they brought it up so heavy-handed like only to drop it entirely.

But. Yeah. That's the quality of the writing these days.

I am sort of looking forward to this next episode because it looks like it may be Fin-heavy, and it's supposed to be related to an old case of his.

Oh man, yeah not how alcoholism works at all. Self-corrected? WTF?
Okay, Fin-heavy sounds good. I hope they remember Amanda's his partner. She still is I think?

Honestly I don't know who is who's partner any longer. Do they even still have officially assigned ones now that it's just Fin, Amanda and Sonny? Even last season they seemed to just be floating people around, some people in the fandom seem to have assumed now that Sonny is Amanda's partner, and I miss the old Fin & Amanda dynamic (like if I'm not going to get Fin & Munch I'll take him and Amanda because they really do work well together.)

Yeah; I'd love to see more of Fin and Amanda working togheter. I used to ship them, but I don't want it to be canon. It's better left to fic. We are probably heading for Sonny and Amanda hooking up, and I'd rather not.
Sonny and Amanda being partners is the least silly headcanon I've heard of anyway.
