This weeks SVU: Loco at Hudson

Oh boy.
Spoilers under the cut.

This week we're back to the new normal. Liv is front and center with her issues and badgers Barba to take a hopless case. Yes, the guy was a scumbag, but that couldn't be proved to be rape. Why did the son kill himself anyway? To add to the pointless angst.
Sonny and Amanda were good, but we needed more of Fin.
I can't believe anyone would sleep with someone to get their kid into Hudson. Don't they know that place is dangerous?
No Tuckson, but Noah's having language problems. Better than the usual Noah in peril stuff, but come on writers, give the kid a break.
No mention of the death threats against my bae Barba, as usual the writers just don't care.
Oh well.

This episode was awful -- in fact I was both bored and infuriated by it, and especially by Liv who I think reached new levels of Doing It Wrong as far as I'm concerned. Trying to retcon Hudson into some kind of elite school vs one that everyone went to (including Stabler's kids, Ken, etc)? Liv basically wanting to rewrite the law, and in the end more or less contributing to that kid's death?

Also it was really uncomfortable having that A-plot with the mention of Liv being upset about Noah not getting into some kind of elite preschool. Ugh.

Yeah, not a stellar ep for Liv. The writers probably don't see it that way, though.
