In case you haven't seen it, the "Whiplash" dvd is out. I need to get one, cause the extras look nice. Commentary tracks usually bore me, but this one might be worth it.
Simmons is in the new Terminator..but that's a clear rental for me.
Even if Emilia Clarke is now Sarah Connor. Hope her GOT co-star Lena Headey taught her well.
Soo..off to write fic.

The local Swedish newspaper DN interviewed Simmons about "Whiplash" and I haven't got the energy to translate all of it. But highlights..people still yell "Yo, Oz!" at him. Not "yo, Vern?".
He's nicer than Fletcher. Well, duh.
He coddled his kids when raising them.
He's not a diva and has never worked with a director he didn't like.
The review reckons he has "an almost tangible dark charisma." Well, duh.
He'll be in the Terminator reboot.
Now get that Oscar, Vern.

Sorry this is just to squee over the Oscars. Benedict Cumberbatch for his role as genius Alan Turing in "The Imitation game"-yay. Michael Keaton for "Birdman"-dito. Emma Stone also for "Birdman".
Most of all J.K Simmons for "Whiplash." Major squee. Oh I wish I hadn't read Birtish mag Uncut's review of "Whiplash," they seem only to know Simmons from "Juno" and express surprise that he can be less kindly. Sigh. He was less than cuddly in "Spiderman" and let's not forget Vern Schillinger. As if anyone who's seen "Oz" ever could. Gah-how much effort does it take to do a quick google before you write something?
Sigh.
Plenty of local reviewers have never even heard of Turing. Another sigh from me.
Okay back to squeeing.
