Great list. I love, love Marc and was thinking of "A lover spurned" for Keller..anyway both boys are drama queens..so. Oh man, I love slut!Toby.
Oh that's a great Queen song too.
Much love for Gitane and Rozz and Diamanda too.

I saw Marc live last Tuesday :D But he mostly did pop/electronic songs, not his more jazzy/cabaret stuff that I love so much.

Also Nina Simone's version of 'I got it bad'. Because Nina makes every song she sings a Nina Simone song, and I feel Toby needs a few political African American singers in his playlist, because of the whole Honorary Black Muslim thing :)

And the other iconic 'torch song for a nazi' number: Wenn ich mir was wünschen dürfte, made famous by Marlene Dietrich, and sung by Charlotte Rampling in Night Porter. The lyrics are so Toby: 'When I ask myself what I should wish for / I should like to be a little happy / Then I get some happiness / And I long for the sad times' LOL, so Toby! (approximate translation, my German is rusty)

and if you've never listened to it, you should check out the whole 'Dream Home Heartache' by Gitane/Rozz, one of my favourite records ever.

Oh I'm jealous..I saw him in 2000 or so. He was great of course, but it was electronic/pop too.
Oh Nina is a goddess..and that's the perfect song.

Oh I've got that record..need to listen to it more.
Night porter is a very apt movie under the circumstances..

Have you got 'Vermine in Ermine' by Marc? it's his most dark camp album, filthy, cynical, absolutely fantastic! You'll love it ;)

Night Porter is brilliant but the theme is not for the easily shockable. There's Dirk Bogarde in it. Then you can geek out and watch Visconti's The Damned and see Dirk Bogarde and Charlotte Rampling play a couple again, but this time on the side of the sane and good :p

I love that I can geek out on the most obscure art with you, that hardly anyone knows what I'm on about ;)

Yeah I've got that one..Marc is one of my faves..
Oh Dirk Bogarde..I got inspired by a biog on him and watched "The servant"-an amazing class study from the sixties..essentially the male/male version of "Miss Julie."
And "Victim"-a movie that might have been responsible for decriminalizing being gay in the u.k..or contributed to it.
He's brilliant in it. Yep, Night porter pushes a few boundaries..
Haven't seen the "The Damned" but clearly I need to.
The biog is about 800 pages-so I skimmed a few chapters to be honest.
I like geeking out with you too..obscure-yeah I guess so.
