Rectify

What? A show about Daniel Holden who has spent most of his life on Death Row for murdering his girlfriend. New evidence leads to his acquittal and he’s set free to face a world he’s ill-prepared to face.

How? A slow-moving but utterly gripping drama.

When? 2013-2016

The show is 22 episodes and 3 seasons. The 4^th one is due this summer and will be its last.

We follow Daniel as he tries to live a normal life, and faces all sorts of trouble.

Is he innocent or not? In the long run it may not be the point.

We follow Daniel as he grapples with his demons from having spent most of his adult life in prison.

Daniel tries to rebuild his relationship with his family, including his sister Amantha, and his mother.

He bonds with the married Tandy, and questions his beliefs.

David is an intelligent man but also deeply disturbed and traumatized.

The slow moving pace may irritate but it serves a purpose of deepening the complex narrative.

It has a rare intensity and exceptional acting.

Fic? Not that much. Only seven on A03 and I wrote one.(ahem)

It deserves so much more.

I tried to watch the pilot like two years ago but it wasn't the right time and it seems to slow for my taste (like for Oz, I tried to watch the pilot 3times before to fall in love) now your post made me want to give another chance :)
