Aug. 27th, 2014 07:01 pmMichael Mann's tv-series Crime Story from the eighties is stylish to say the least. That's Mann's stock in trade. His brightly-lit crime series is eighties pretending to be the early sixties. Dennis Farina's cop has the necessary gravitas to be the scourge of crime, young Stephen Lang as an idealistic lawyer and Homicide's Jon Polito as a mob boss do good work also.
Plus Pam Grier is an impressive guest star as a tough reporter. So far it's very entertaining.
Our hero's marital woes are less interesting than his crime fighting to say the least. So yeah, I recommend it even if the vibe is less sixties than it tries for.
